Someone checks in. Every day on the list.
A wellness check-in call phones someone on a repeating schedule you set, asks a short set of questions — how they are, whether they have taken their medication, whether they need anything — and records the answers as a form. Everyone is told they are speaking to an AI, and if nobody picks up, the voicemail can be in a family member’s own recorded voice.
Check-in programmes are set up with us rather than self-serve — the questions and the escalation path deserve a conversation. Calls are billed per talk minute and a check-in call is short.
Good morning Mrs Aldridge, this is an automated check-in call from Harbour Care — you are speaking to an AI assistant. How are you feeling today?
Oh, not too bad. A bit tired.
I am glad you picked up. Have you been able to take your tablets this morning?
Yes, with breakfast. I could do with more of the blue ones though.
After the call
- Medication taken
- Yes
- How they are
- Tired but well
- Needs something
- Repeat prescription
- Outcome
- Answered — human
The disclosure is the first thing said, every call. What comes back is a completed form — the "needs something" row is what a person reads first.
Or just ask for it
Change the round without logging in.
Family and staff ask the way they already message each other.
InboxThis morning: 41 called, 2 no answer
39 answered. Two no answer — Mrs Adeyemi and Mr Larsson — both got the family voicemail in their daughter’s recorded voice, and both are flagged for a person. Everyone was told at the start they were speaking to an AI.
Try Mrs Adeyemi again at 2. If still nothing, call her daughter.
@Octo who did we not reach today?
On it 🔧(runningget_campaign_results…)
Two: Flat 4 and Flat 27. Both flagged, both left the family voicemail. (edited)

Running today
Lions Befrienders uses this for their check-in calls.
Not a pilot we are hoping to talk about one day. A Singapore social service agency that has been supporting seniors since 1995 runs routine check-in calls on it, and their staff handle the ones that need a person.
Close to 13,000 seniors
Lions Befrienders Service Association supports them across ten Active Ageing Centres, with around a thousand regular volunteers alongside the staff.
A hundred seniors first
It started as a trial with one hundred seniors at the centres, rather than as a switch thrown across the whole service.
Live since October 2025
Routine check-in calls have been running on it since then, in local lingo and an unhurried tone rather than a call-centre one.
People handle the hard ones
Calls that turn into something urgent are escalated to staff. The point of automating the routine ones is that there is time left for those.
This AI voice agent is not replacing the human touch; it is multiplying its impact.

Start here, not with the features
Nobody is tricked into thinking this is a person.
A wellness call to someone who may be isolated is exactly the place where pretending would be indefensible. So the honesty is the default, and it is the first thing on this page rather than the last.
They are told, every call
The spoken disclosure is on by default and cannot be quietly skipped. You can change the words; you cannot make the call pretend to be a person.
Or they hear someone they know
A family member records the voicemail message and it plays back exactly as recorded — their actual voice, not an imitation of it.
A person can step in mid-call
The agent can raise a question to a caregiver while the call is live, and a caregiver can listen or take the call over.
What was said is on the record
Every call keeps what the person was told, the transcript, and the answers — so a family asking what happened gets an answer.
This is a wedge we set up with you. The questions, and what happens when an answer is worrying, are worth a conversation before the first call goes out.
How it runs
Questions, a scheduled list, a review.
Turn the check-in into a form
Short, fixed, and answerable.
Define the questions as typed fields — medication taken yes, no or unsure; how they are feeling; anything they need. Fixed answers make the result reviewable at a glance.
Set the schedule
Mornings, their timezone, on repeat.
Set the days and hours, and the calls go out on their own from then on. You are not launching a run every morning, and the windows are read in the timezone you chose.
Read the exceptions
A person decides what matters.
The results are a form per person with an outcome. The point is that a human reads the short list of worrying answers instead of making forty calls.
What is actually happening
The parts that make it safe to run.
The check-in is a form, not a recording to listen to
Up to twenty typed fields per campaign, and a field can be a fixed set of allowed values — so "took medication" comes back as yes, no or unsure rather than as a sentence somebody has to interpret at speed.
up to 20 typed fields · fixed-choice answersA caregiver can be pulled in mid-call
When something is raised that the agent should not handle, the question goes to the dashboard while the call is live. The answer is injected into the conversation, or a person takes the call.
ask-a-human mid-call · join · take overOutcomes are clinical signals, not just call stats
Answered by a person, voicemail, no answer, disconnected — thirteen distinct outcomes. Three no-answers in a week is something a human should look at, and the results are what shows it.
13 outcomes · per-person resultsThe voicemail is a real recorded voice
Played back exactly as recorded, with no text-to-speech step in between. For a missed check-in call, hearing a familiar voice is the difference between a service and an intrusion.
verbatim playback · reusable recordingsWhere a person is still required
The calls repeat on their own, but nothing escalates automatically after a number of missed days — that judgement stays with a human, deliberately. Three no-answers in a week is exactly the kind of pattern a person should look at rather than a rule should act on.

The things people actually ask.
- Are people told they are talking to a machine?
- Always, and it is on by default. On a call to someone who may be isolated or unwell, that is not a compliance box — pretending to be a person would be the wrong thing to do. You can rewrite the wording, and every call records what the person was told.
- Can the voicemail be a real family member’s voice?
- Yes. A relative records the message and it plays back exactly as recorded, so a missed call leaves their daughter’s voice rather than a synthetic one. That is the single most-requested part of this.
- Does it run on a schedule, or do I launch it each time?
- On a schedule. You set the days and the times, and the calls go out on their own — weekday mornings, a weekly list, whatever the programme needs. That is how the Lions Befrienders check-ins run.
- What if someone does not answer for three days running?
- You will see it in the results, and a person decides what to do. The calls repeat on their own, but nothing automatically escalates after a number of missed days — that logic does not exist and we are not going to imply it does. Retries within a run work; the pattern across days is for a human to read.
- What if someone needs help during the call?
- The agent can stop and ask a person mid-call — the question appears on the dashboard while the call is still live, and a caregiver’s answer goes straight into the conversation. A caregiver can also join or take over the call.
- What do we actually get back?
- A row per person with the answers as fields — medication taken yes/no/unsure, how they said they were feeling, anything they asked for — plus the outcome and a transcript. It reads like a completed form, not a pile of recordings.
